What is Mental Fitness?


The term ‘Mental Health’ is strongly tied to the disease model, where good mental health is the absence of disease and poor mental health means that the individual is suffering from one of a range of mental illnesses.

Mental Fitness, on the other hand, is a much broader continuum and a good analogy can be made with physical fitness. You can have low, moderate, or high levels of physical fitness, and it’s something that you can work on and improve. If you neglect it, your levels will drop.  

At the Mental Fitness Project, we believe in an integrated approach that incorporates mindset/psychology, exercise, nutrition, sleep, breathwork, thermal therapies, social connectedness and behaviour change.
